I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog for awhile now. I just didn’t know where to start. It seemed like such a daunting task that I wasn’t sure if I was up to. It wasn’t until recently that I truly felt led to start writing. It just hit me one day that this is something I want to do, so I jumped in head first and I’m not looking back!
I’ve always loved all things beauty. When I first discovered all of the makeup tutorials on Youtube about two years ago, I fell in love. I watched hundreds of videos, hours on end. I learned so much – everything from makeup techniques to popular brands – and my love only grew from there. I love trying new products, experimenting with new techniques, and making helpful recommendations to others based on my experience.
With what little money I can squeeze out of my skinny-college-student-wallet, I will run to Sephora with an endless wish list. I’ve been growing my makeup collection over the past few years and have finally saved up enough to be able to spend money on the higher-end products I’ve been eyeing for what feels like forever. Once I set foot into Sephora, my addiction began.
I’m by no means a makeup artist, and I don’t see myself ever filming Youtube videos (public speaking classes are basically torture, so I can’t imagine talking in front of a camera will be any easier for me), so I thought I would just watch and learn as much as I could about beauty.
I then discovered the blogging world and thought that this is something I could do. I’ve always loved writing and I finally feel confident enough in my beauty knowledge to be able to help others. That is my main goal for this blog. I want to be able to connect with others who share my passions and I want to be able to share with others what I have learned. I am also eager to continue learning. I want to discover new blogs that I love, while learning about new styles and techniques that I can incorporate into my own work.
My passion doesn’t end with beauty, though. I have a new found love for fitness and health. I love looking up new workout routines to try and new healthy recipes to make. Over the past year or so, I have seen a huge transition in my lifestyle. I am minoring in Nutrition and Food Sciences so again I feel as though I have helpful information to share. I want to inspire and encourage people to start living a healthier life. It took me awhile before I reached the point where I actually enjoyed going to the gym, but once I reached that point, it has become something I really look forward to (on most days anyway). It is a great way for me to relieve stress after a long day. I can feel myself getting in better shape and body just feels healthier. Eating healthy and working out has made my life more enjoyable and I hope to help others improve their lives as well.
I really hope I can truly express my love for life through my blog and that I can spread that love with anyone who stops by my site!
