So we are officially a month into the new year and so far my resolution to become more committed in my relationship with the gym is still going strong. As far as my commitment to healthy eating goes . . . well we all have some slip ups! It’s all about making the right choices most of the time, and trying to put healthy, nutritious foods into our bodies whenever we can. That being said, I’ve been trying out some different smoothie combinations, and this is a recipe for one I’ve been loving. Smoothies are a great way to pack a ton of nutrients into a tasty snack. For this particular recipe, I even snuck in some greens and I couldn’t even taste them!
My Go-To Green Protein Smoothie Recipe
1/2 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen mango
1 handful of mixed greens (I use baby kale and spinach)
1/2 – 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (depending on how thick you want it)
1 scoop of Perfect Fit Vanilla Protein (or you could substitute this for 3/4 cup of nonfat vanilla greek yogurt)
Simply toss all of the ingredients into your blender and blend away! Continue to add almond milk until it is a consistency of your liking.
I love to make this smoothie after I finish a workout. Giving your body protein is essential in building and repairing muscles. This smoothie keeps me full for hours (which means less temptations to reach for salty or sweet snacks! 🙂 )
