For all the years I’ve been experimenting with makeup, my lack of quality brushes is actually surprising. I’ve been living off a couple of generic brush kits that I ordered from amazon a few years ago. It was only recently that I decided it was time to get myself some nicer brushes. I chose to order some Morphe brushes because they are much more affordable than some other similar brands, but are also very high quality. Again, my skinny wallet keeps reminding me that I’m on a budget, so I only ordered five brushes I knew I could use just about every day.
M438: I use this brush with a translucent powder to set my eyelids and under eye concealer. The tapered end is perfect for getting right underneath your eye to help avoid creasing. It is also the perfect size to sweep across my eyelids.
M501: This is my holy grail highlighting brush. I’ve tried fan brushes, stippling brushes, my finger, etc. to apply my highlight, but none of them even begin to compare to this beauty. It’s just perfect.
M441: Speaking of perfection . . . this blending brush is just that. I’ve been using a dense, dome concealer brush as a blending brush forever. I never knew what I was missing! This brush is fluffy and perfect for blending out your crease color.
M433: If you want to pack on the color a little more precisely in the crease, keeping the darker colors from spreading too far up on your lid, this brush will do just that. Similar to the M441, it is a great blending tool that offers more precision. These two brushes make a killer blending duo.
M432: This brush is a great definer brush for precision and details. I use it to apply shadow tightly to my lower lash line. This brush allows me to get as close to the lash line as possible for the initial application. I then go in with a blending brush to soften the harsh line.
